Digital Director Troubleshooting

Problem: The DSLR camera does not appear in the list of cameras.

Solution:

• Make sure you are using a version of Snapspin360 that has DSLR integration.
• Make sure the Manfrotto Digital Director app is installed on the iPad, and that the camera shows up in that app. If not, you may need to update the firmware of the digital director.
• Make sure the iPad is securely connected to the Digital Directors lightning port. Try a different cable between the camera and Digital Director. Some cables give connectivity issues.
• Restarting the iPad can also help the device appear.

Problem: The device says the Digital Director accessory is not supported.

Solution:

• Update the firmware of the Digital Director.

Problem: Initialising the Camera takes long, and is inconsistent (general flaky connection).

Solution:

• Make sure the iPad is securely connected to the Digital Directors lightning port.
• Try a different cable between the camera and Digital Director. Some cables give connectivity issues.

Problem: Image capture times out.

Solution:

This could be a few things.

• Make sure the camera has a memory card in it, the memory card is not full, and the memory card does not have its write protection switch enabled.
• If you have the "AutoFocus before capture" in the camera settings in the 3 finger swipe up menu, make sure the countdown is long enough for the camera to finish auto-focussing. 3 seconds should be enough. You can also test if this is the issue by turning that option off and trying to capture a photo.

Problem: Live view is very dark/black.

Solution:

• If you have set your shutter speed very high, ISO very low, and aperture very small because of an external flash, you may need to use different settings for capturing a photo and for the live view. You can do this when starting the event in the camera settings, or by using a 3 finger swipe up gesture on the camera screen.

Problem: Issues Initialising the live view.

Solution:

• This is most likely an issue with the USB cable from the digital director to the camera, try swap this out and see if it fixes the issue.
